The
PIN code for your T-Mobile SIM card is printed on the delivery slip that comes with the SIM card.
If in doubt, try T-Mobile’s default PIN code for SIM cards, which
is 1210.

Note that you get three tries to enter the PIN, and your
phone will be locked if you fail after these tries. You’ll then need
to contact T-Mobile to get a PUK code.

You
will be asked for your PUK code if you’ve had more goes at guessing
your SIM card PIN code than you’re allowed. You’ll need to phone T-Mobile’s
Customer Services department if your phone is prompting you for a PUK code – they can provide you with a PUK code to unlock your SIM card once they have verified your identity.

For security reasons, only T-Mobile can legally provide you with a PUK code to unlock your T-Mobile SIM card.

If you want to connect your laptop to the Internet while away from home or the office, look at T-Mobile Mobile Broadband offering – Their 3G network covers a reasonable amount of the UK.

Their Mobile Broadband tariff provides high speed mobile Internet access up to 1.8Meg using a USB modem. The USB modem is free when you take out a 12 month contract.

Users with
a T-Mobile account should be able to use their phone overseas, but
note the following:

• You need to contact Customer
  Services to enable "International roaming".
• Not all phones work in
  all parts of the world – For example, the US uses a different frequency range to Europe, and you’ll need a get a tri-band phone.

When ‘roaming’ on overseas network,
note that it’s more expensive… also, if someone calls you while
you’re overseas, you’ll pay for the International leg of the journey.

Many network operators have
a single number (such as 901 or 123) to get to voicemail. With T-Mobile
it’s not so simple.

We understand that the retrieval number seems
to be in the format:

+44062 (then mobile number without the first zero). We’ve also heard
of the prefixes +44064 and+44065 being used.

Two other useful snippets:

• Dial 222 to get your
  voicemail information sent to your phone
• Dialling *#67# should
  tell you what your voicemail divert number is
